As this match is a evening fixture, there is no PlayerZone after the match
Thisyle keep their first clean sheet of the league season but can do no better than a 0-0 draw.
After a poor first half showing there was a marked imporovement after the break.
With 8 minutes remaining Thistle looked to have been handed a chance to win the game when they were awarded a penalty but with bannigan over the ball ready to take the spot kick the referee spoke to his assistant and play restarted with a Queens free kick or an earlier offside call.
Sub Coke hit the top of the bar and Gordon shot wide in injury time as Thistyle tried to find an elusive goal.
A header from the free kick is well wide of the Thistle goal.
Queens have a free kick about 35 yards from the Thistle goal.
Gordon nearly wins in injury time but his shot from a Graham knock down goes wide.
The 90 minutes have come and gone. Into injury time now.
Great challenge from Mayo as Peytravicius looked to be getting clear.
Cole curls the free kick goalwards with real pace and is unlucky to see the ball strike the top of the bar and go over
This time they do get a free kick as Robson is fouled near the left edge of the Queens box. Cole and Bannigan are over the ball.
Thistle look for a free kick at the edge of the Queens box but it's not forthcoming.
It's not a penalty after all. After consulting with his assistant the referee restarts play with a Queens free kick just outside their box.
Cole is brought down but hold on a second is this going to be given?
Stewart saves with his legs from Cole before O'Connor lshes a shot high into tyhe night sky.
Petravicius on for Dobbie.
Semple has space as the corner comes over but can't keep his header down.
Fox pushes away a Ledger shot as his near post.
Thistle think they've scored when the corner is heade goalwards but the ball, somehow, stays out.
Into the last 15 minutes of the game. Thistle are pressing but don't, in truth, look like scoring.
Graham nearly squeezes the ball home from a tight angle but Stewart is able to save.
Zanatta comes on to replace a tiring Rudden.
Gordon comes on for Penrice.
A dangerous looking O'Connor cross is clrared as Thistyle step up the pressure.
Penrice's corner is cleared at the front post.
Another effort on goal from Thistle but Graham's shot swerves away from goal and wide for a goal kick.
Best chance yet for Thistle. Penrice finds Rudden to his left. It takes a second or two for the ball to sit up for Rudden and that allows a defender to get across and block the shot when it follows.
Cole comes on for Barjonas.
It's a better corner this time from Barjonas but Queens hack the ball clear.
Penrice crosses from the right but although O'Ware is able to get his head to the ball his header doesn't threaten the Queens goal.
That might, just, count as Thistle's first effor at goal.Robson plays the ball to the feet of Graham who doesn't get anything near enough curl on the ball and the ball goes well wide of the Queens goal.
Queens look for another conrer when the ball goes behind but it's a Thistle goal kick.
Barjonas' corner is far too deep though and play restarts with a Queens goal kick.
Thistle's first corner of the match.
First effort of the second half comes from Queens and Fox is required to parry away an effort from Oliver.
Thistle get the second half underway. Hoping for a much improved second 45 minutes from The Jags.
Goalless at the break and very little to write about to be honest.
There have been just two efforts on goal both for the visitors and both saved by Scott Fox.
Lyon gets the ball beyond Fox but Mayo is un hand to make a fairly comfortable clearance as the half time whistle approaches.
Barjonas does well to get over a low cross but the ba;l is cleared.
Stewart is off his line to collect a Robson cross.
Graham is back on his feet and looks okay to continue.
A worry for Thistle as Graham goes down holding his ankle and in a bit of apparent pain.
Holt fires in a low drive from the edge of the box that is straight at Fox.
Nearly a shooting opportunity for Rudden after being set up by Graham but a defender is across quickly to deny him that opportunity.
Thistle are dominating possession but are doing little with the ball with the final pass invariably wasteful.
No flag this time as Rudden collects the ball on the right hand side. His cross though goes behind the two Thistle players inside the box.
Dobbie's free kick is cleared by Brownlie and Thistle break. Rudden has the ball on the right with a player in space inside to his right but he over hits his pass and any chance to threaten the Queens goal is lost.
O'Connor is adjudged to have fouled Pybus in from the left touchline and Queens have a free kick.
There is no great tempo to Thistle's play and O'Connor is penalised for bargging into a Queens defender inisde the Queens penalty box.
Graham is furious as the flag again goes up for offside against him as he collects a Barjonas knock down.
The corner is cleared as far as Lyon lurking a yard or so outside the Thistle box. His first time shot clears the Thistle bar but not by too much.
Oliver has space inside the box and Fox is forced to turn his shot round for corner. It looked as if might have been going wide in any case.
Rudden is on the end of a Penrice flick but like Graham a few minutes earlier he is caught offside.
Dobbie steps away from a defender on the right before delivering a cross that Fox takes at his near post.
First positive sign from Thistle. Robson is involved early moving inside from the left. He passes to Rudden who threads a pass through to Graham who is caught offside.
Oliver sends over a cross from the Queens left but it drifts out of play for a goal kick.
All very uneventful so far.
Very cagey opening few minutes. Queens are probably seeing marginally more of the ball so far but not a hint of a chance from either side so far.
Queen of the South kick us off. Thistle shooting towards the John Lambie Stand in the first half.
There is no denying the importance of tonight's fixture with Queen of the South. It might no determine the final league standings but it is a hugely significant match all the same. Win and Thistle draw level with Queens. Defeat on the other hand would leave Thistle in a position no side would envy.
With no home league fixture for some weeks there is a freshness to Ian McCall's starting eleven this evening.
Lewis Mayo makes his Thistle debut wearing the number six jersey while Zak Rudden returns after a frustrating period on the injured list.
There are starts too for the likes of Tommy Robson and Jamie Barjonas and it will be intersting to see the precise formation the starting eleven take once the game kicks-off in just over 30 minutes times.
There is one other pre-match change with Thistle once again warming up at the City End of the ground.
