Thistle will regret a missed first half penalty with the score at 0-0 but the reality is that they were taken apart by Queen's Park in a hugely disappointing second half display.
There are no takers for Milne's cross across the 6-yard box.
Can Thistle's day get any worse? Well, yes it can. McPake curls a shot beyond the reach of Sneddon. The game was gone by this point anyway but that was poor again from the Thistle defence who gave McPake far too much space.
Savoury pulls a shot wide of Sneddon's left-hand post.
Sneddon saves Kenny's shot with his legs.
Mullen passes for Fitzpatrick who sees his cross blocked.
Under a bit of pressure, Ferrie is able to claim Turner's corner.
Sneddon saves Thomson's shot.
The free kick is touched to the side for Smith who scuffs his shot.
Fitzpatrick has his heels clipped and Thistle have a free kick outside the Queen's box, right of centre.
Boateng slides a great ball through for Thomson who is too quick for Brownlie. Sneddon though makes a good stop to keep the score at 3-0.
Twice in the space of a few seconds Thistle are close to pulling a goal back. First Dowds finds McMilllan whose shot is saved by Ferrie and then Milne's effort is just a shade too high.
Thistle may have been unfortunate to be behind at the break, but they are being pulled apart at the moment and are decidedly second best. Murray is the latest to have an effort on goal which is straight at Sneddon.
Only the post denies McParke a second goal and Queen's a fourth.
They don't have long to wait for that third goal though. McPake has space inside the box and he confidently tucks the ball beyond Sneddon. No way back now for Thistle you would suspect.
Sneddon's blocks Murray's shot as Queen's look for a clinching third goal.
Thistle scream for handball and a penalty as Smith's shot comes off a defender before Turner curls a shot just wide of target.
Cheap, cheap goal on so many levels. The corner itself comes when Sneddon slices the ball out of play and then Thistle again fail to deal with the corner with Eze heading unchallenged into the net.
McKinnon's cross from Turner's cross drops over the crossbar.
Thistle's half-time change has seen McMillan switch to his more familiar right back role with Brownlie in the heart of defence.
We could need another change soon with Tiffoney down injured inside the Queen's box.
Lawless' cross is missed agonisingly by both Graham and Tiffoney.
Change at the break from Thistle.
It's been a frustrating first 45 minutes for Thistle.
It can be argued that Thistle have played better then they did in defeating Morton but they find themselves trailing at the break.
A missed Aaron Muirhead penalty was followed a few minutes later by a Robson goal.
There have been countless near things in front of the Queen's goal but no Thistle goal.
In fairness Queen's Park have not been without a goal threat themselves which has made for an entertaining game but a hugely frustrating one too from a Thistle perspective.
Sneddon claims the corner in the half's last action.
Into first half injury time.
The ball is worked back to Bannigan after his corner is cleared. This time Milne gets his head to Bannigan's cross but there is no power in his header allowing Ferrie to save.
Milne leaves Thomas for dead as he cuts in from the left but overhits his cross and another opportunity is lost.
Eze can't convert with a free header from Thomas' corner.
Robson drags a shot well wide of the Thistle goal.
Milne looks for a foul as he tries to get on to Muirhead's header.
Tiffoney's shot is turned round the post by Ferrie.
The referee sees a push as Turner's corner comes over and Queen's have a free kick.
The ball is scrambled away just as Turner looks set to score.
Bannigan's shot clips the top of the bar on the way over.
Tiffoney has seemed a bit out of sorts but a magnificent turn near the half way line gets him away from Bannon and he advances only to see his cross cleared.
Thistle look for another penalty as Graham looks to be barged while trying to collect Turner's pass.
Thistle are punished for not taking their chances. Robson has time inside the Thistle box and the former Thistle player buries his shot past Sneddon for his second goal against Thistle this season.
Thistle close again. Lawless passes to Graham to his right and it is the feet of Ferrie that denies Thistle a goal this time.
It's Muirhead that takes the penalty. He sends Ferrie the wrong way but the ball comes off the post.
It's a handball inside the box and Thistle have a chance to take the lead.
Three times Graham has gone down looking for a free kick and on each occasion the referee waves play on much to Graham's frustration. That frustration might account for his lunge at Thomas that he is a shade fortunate to escape a booking for.
Turner finds Tiffoney to his left whose shot is blocked by Eze.
Turner's corner is well defended.
Hodson's pass finds Graham wide on the right. He crosses looking for McKinnon. When the ball goes behind Thistle look in vain for a corner.
Graham's pass finds McKinnon in an offside position. It's been much, much better from Thistle in the last 5 minutes.
Better again from Thistle. Tiffoney and Graham link up well with Graham's shot spinning off a defender and into the waiting arms of Ferrie.
First hint of something better from Thistle. Turner picks up the ball some 30 yards from goal, advances a few paces before shooting wide of target.
Milne does well to get his head to a Thomas cross. The first 10 minutes of this game have almost exclusively been played in the Thistle half.
Eze's header drops well wide of the Thistle goal.
Sneddon has to claw away Thomson's cross as Queen's continue to make an impressive start to the game.
It's a bit of slack play from McMillan that provides another half chance for Queen's but Sneddon gathers, with a little fumble, Thomas' near post effort.
It's McMillan that has taken the central defensive position vacated by the injured Holt with Hodson filling in at right back.
Turner heads the corner clear from the edge of the Thistle 6-yard box.
Early chance for Queens but Jarrett sees his route to goal eventually blocked.
Thistle get things underway and will be shooting towards the City End in the first half.
It's a return to league action and a welcome return to Firhill for Thistle as they face 6th placed Queen's Park.
Such is the congested nature of the Scottish Championship that although Queen's Park sit 5 places below Thistle in the league table they would go level on points with Thistle were they to win this afternoon.
Thistle meantime will be determined to hold onto their status as league leaders and Ian McCall's starting eleven shows three changes from the side that started against Aberdeen in midweek.
In come Kyle Turner, now free from suspension, Brian Graham and Lee Hodson both whom came off the bench at Pittodrie.
Anton Dowds drops to the bench for this one while Kevin Holt misses out through injury and captain Ross Docherty through illness.
In Docherty's absence, Stuart Bannigan takes the captain's armband for Thistle.
