Partick Thistle defeated Queen’s Park 2-1 at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill to make it a hat-trick of Championship wins over the Spiders this season.
Jags boss Kris Doolan stuck with the same starting XI that saw off Airdrieonians last weekend with the substitutes’ bench the same as well.
Stuart Bannigan kicked off, however, possession was quickly turned over and the visitors were looking for a penalty after only 15 seconds when Jack Turner fell in the box however Referee Wilson was unmoved.
The hosts first foray forward came in three minutes when Aidan Fitzpatrick broke on the left however his through pass to Robbie Crawford was slightly overhit and the danger was cleared.
Thistle forced a corner two minutes later and after a scramble Lee Ashcroft had a header saved by Calum Ferrie.
Shortly afterwards Thistle found the visiting defensive shields lying open and Josh Scott fouled Logan Chalmers at the edge of the box and from the dead ball Thistle took the lead.
Kyle Turner whipped the free-kick around the wall and when the ball came smashing back off Ferrie’s left hand post BRIAN GRAHAM was perfectly placed to turn it over the line from six yards.
On 11 minutes Scott Robinson did well to rob Dane Murray and break on his right with his clipped cross finding Fitzpatrick on the other wing with his low drive scooped up by Ferrie.
The visitors enjoyed a period of possession around the quarter of an hour mark with their skipper Dom Thomas having a shot deflected wide for the first of a couple of corners.
Queen’s attacked again on 22 minutes and this time a low Zach Mauchin cross found Turner who forced Myles Roberts into a fine low stop at his left hand post.
Thistle soon returned to offensive duty and Mauchin did well to halt a powerful Fitzpatrick with a solid sliding challenge on the touch line.
An equaliser arrived on 25 minutes when Mauchin charged down the right and clipped a pass back to Thomas who arrowed a shot high into Roberts’ net from 20 yards.
Kris Doolan’s side had a chance to retake the lead three minutes later when Robinson released Chalmers on the right flank however the wide-man’s right foot shot flashed wide.
Another chance came just after the half hour mark as Robinson won the ball 25 yards out and looked to find Graham with a floated pass however the ball just missed the striker’s head.
The duo reversed their roles just before the 36-minute mark with a pass eluding Robinson this time with fans rising to their feet shortly afterwards to mark the life of Thistle fan Stewart Bryson with a minute’s applause.
Ashcroft found Robinson with a 40-yard cross ball three minutes from the break to set up a promising looking attack only for Will Tizzard to step in and mop up the danger.
Half time – Partick Thistle 1 Queen’s Park 1
Two minutes into the restart and Queen’s defensive shields were lying open again as Chalmers wriggled his way towards Ferrie’s goal and when his cross became a shot that crashed off the bar GRAHAM was on hand to net from a few inches out.
The opening five minutes of the second half were played in an open fashion and Thomas had another opening for Queen’s however this time his effort rose and cleared the bar.
Shortly after a lightning home break was cleared by Ferrie, Queen’s Park came close to a second equaliser with a shot from Thomson being deflected before crashing off the post.
Fitzpatrick earned a corner on 64 minutes that was headed out and into the path of Chalmers with his net bound 18-yard volley blocked by Zak Rudden’s foot eight yards from goal.
Graham picked up on good work by Fitzpatrick shortly afterwards however Ferrie ended hopes of a hat-trick when he scooped up the goalscorer’s curling drive.
Bookings came in quick succession for Bannigan and Robinson as well as the visiting Thomson as both sides chased the next goal.
Substitute Steven Lawless looked to be denied a breakthrough pass to Graham with 6 minutes left by a handball however play was waved on, and the visitors were awarded a corner that was cleared.
Roberts kept things calm with a couple of dashes from his line to cut out crosses before Dan O’Reilly was harshly penalised for a challenge 40 yards from home goal.
In injury time the visitors forced a corner however Ashcroft and Co held firm with substitute Kanayo Megwa popping up with a timely clearance as well.

The Thistle fans are urging their team on but this is going to be a really tense last five plus minutes.
The only touch to Drozd's corner comes from a Queen's player and that touch takes the ball out for a Thistle throw on the far side.
Robinson late in this time and there is an angry reaction before the yellow card is shown.
Bannigan can have few complaints over picking up a yellow for a late swipe at Rudden.
O'Reilly makes a strong challenge to win the ball near the halfway line and looks to have picked up a sore one in the process. No need for the physio though and play restarts with a Thistle free kick.
Graham is okay but he will need to leave the field before he can come back on.
Physio is on to attend to Graham who looks as if he might have caught a blow to the face at the last Queen's Park corner.
Queen's work another short corner and when the ball is lifted high into the Thistle box it goes out for a goal kick.
A Hinds shot is blocked and spins over the bar for yet another Queen's corner.
Ashcroft heads clear after Queen's work a short corner.
McBeth thumps a header clear from the corner.

Before the corner as second Thistle change.

Crawford makes an important clearance as Queen's threaten an immediate response.
It's that man Graham again. Another easy finish as he, like the good centre forward he is, is there to apply the finish that the opportunity that Logan Chalmers tenacity created.
Back underway.
No changes from Thistle at the break.
It's level at the break Brian Graham's opener after a Kyle Turner free kick came off the post being cancelled out by a Dom Thomas strike. The Queen's park equaliser was not undeserved.

Under pressure Roberts claws away the Thomas corner.
The dangerous Thomas has the ball at his feet inside the Thistle box. He can't hit target this time with a low show that goes wide of Roberts' right hand post.
Big chance for Logan Chalmers but he drags his shot well wide of goal.
Roberts has little chance of saving that one as Thomas fires one high into the corner of the net from outside the box.
Turner's corner is headed clear by Tizzard.
What a save that is from Roberts who is down quickly at his left hand post to deny Jack Turner what looked a certain goal. It's a good spell for Queen's Park at the moment.
The free kick is cleared
Bannigan heads the corner clear. Queen's remain on the attack and win a free kick on the left near the edge of the box.
Play is stopped for a foul on Robinson halting a promising attack from Thistle.
Rudden knocks Thomas' corner back across goal where Ashcroft makes an important clearance.
A Thomas shot is deflected giving Queen's their first corner.
A Robinson cross looking for the run of Crawford is over hit slightly. The ball is picked up though by Fitzpatrick and he tests Ferrie with a low shot.
The Chalmers corner is headed clear. It drops to Turner some distance from goal and his volley comes under the category of ambitious. Lets just say it doesn't threaten the Queen's goal and leave it at that.
Turner and Chalmers stand over the ball at the free kick. It is Turner that takes it and his effort smacks off the base of the post. Graham is there though to tap home for his 12th of the season and 91st Partick Thistle goal.
Chalmers is fouled at the edge of the box at a promising angle.
The first corner of the game produces the first Thistle chance of the game. Queen's can't clear the corner and a header from Ashcroft comes in but Ferrie saves.
