Brian Graham's injury time winner will see Thistle take a narrow lead into Friday's second leg after a frankly incredible 90 minutes of football at Firhill.
It could have been so much better. It could have been worse.
Rest easy Jags fans. We've all this to do again on Friday.
Into a 7th minute of injury time and Thistle have a vital lead. The ball falls to Graham inside the box and he batters a shot into the net.
The Queen's Park physio is back on the pitch and we have another break in play.
The three additional minutes have come gone but a ball has scarcely been kicked during those 3 minutes.
It should be longer than 3 minutes as play is now stopped for a Queen's player to receive treatment. Thistle fans trying to rouse the team for one last effort.
We're going to have a minimum of 3 additional minutes.
Fitzpatrick gets into a good position near the bye line but takes a heavy touch and it is a Queen's Park goal kick.
This game has been turned on its head as a Thomas shot from the edge of the box looks to bounce in front of Mitchell and finds the net. We're all square again.
Docherty is the latest Thistle player left on the ground looking for a free kick.
Tiffoney goes down inside the Queen's box but shouts for a penalty are ignored.
Turner looks to be fouled when he steps in to clear. There's no free kick and the ball falls to Boateng and his deflected effort wrong foots Mitchell and finds the net.
Crowd: 3,754
Graham gets the ball at the edge of the box and tries to bend a shot into the top corner but he can't get enough bend on it and too much height and his shot clears the bar.
It's another really good cross from Fitzpatrick and is hacked clear for the goal line as Thistle are close to a 4th goal.
As Queen's try and break Turner picks up a yellow card for a tug on a jersey.
It's a good cross in from Fitzpatrick but headed clear from the 6 yard box.
No doubting the commitment of Thistle as more than one player put their bodies in front of the ball as Queen's threaten from the corner.
Oakley clears ahead of Tiffoney as Thistle look to extend their hard fought advantage.
Ferrie gets to a through ball ahead of Graham.
Holt brushes against Oakley who crashes to the ground looking for a penalty.
While Thistle are looking for a free kick for a foul on Graham, Tiffoney collects a poor pass back and squares for Fitzpatrick who knocks the ball into the unguarded net. Thistle have a two goal advantage again.
Turner's corner goes deep. Too deep in truth and Graham can't enough of a touch to the ball to keep any threat alive.
Turner whips the free kick and it is headed just over their own bar by a defender.
Graham is pulled down and Thistle have a free kick in a threatening position.
It's getting very tense here.
Docherty looks to be caught late but there is no free kick and the Thistle captain is still on the ground.
Thistle look for a corner as the ball goes behind following a Lawless cross from the right but play restarts with a goal kick.
Longridge sends in a low shot from the edge of the box that Mitchell probably had covered but is happy to see go wide of goal all the same.
Fitzpatrick goes to his right and nearly gets clear of Bannon inside the Queen's box. The Thistle number 21 is looking in the mood tonight.
Thomas goes round the side of Holt. His cross is partially cleared but only as far as Jarrett who knocks a poor effort over the Thistle crossbar.
Perhaps no surprise to see this change given how much Fitzpatrick had been dominating Davidson.
A Shields effort goes well wide of the Thistle goal.
Fitzpatrick again gets the better of Davidson before crossing for Tiffoney who sees his shot roll agonisingly wide of target.
Thomas' corner goes deep where Fox sees a header drop harmlessly wide of the Thistle goal.
Fitzpatrick just breezes past Davidson before shooting across Ferrie and narrowly wide of goal.
Here we go again. Strap yourself in for yet another rollercoaster 45 minutes of football.
Well I think we all need a bit of a rest after that.
Goals from Kyle Turner and Jack McMillan saw Thistle establish a two goal lead before Thomas brought Queen's Park right back into the game.
There have been countless near things in and around both goals.
This game, far less this tie, is far from settled.
Docherty tries a long range shot that Ferrie makes a comfortable save from.
Thistle sweep the ball across the pitch before Tiffoney sees his shot blocked.
Docherty finds Fitzpatrick to his left with an excellent pass but Fitzpatrick can't get his cross passed the first defender.
Fitzpatrick tries to find Lawless with a cross in his first involvement since coming on but the ball is headed clear.
A cross comes over from the right but it is an easy take for Mitchell.
This are forced into a change with Bannigan coming off injured.
Queen's are right back in this game and is a really well taken goal from Thomas who shows good footwork at the edge of the box to create space and then finds the net with a crisp low drive.
A Turner shot is blocked by Oakley at the edge of the box.
It's two for Thistle. Tiffoney picks up the ball and when the ball is squared it falls to McMillan and the right back bullets a left foot shot into the back of the net.
There is an anxious moment in the Thistle defence as the corner comes over and the ball bounces towards goal but it is cleared.
Bannigan and Lawless link up well but the ball just runs away from Lawless and out for a goal kick.
Graham has the net for Thistle when he slams the ball home from inside the 6 yard box after Tiffoney crossers but a raised flag for offside immediately halts the Thistle celebrations.
Oakley is a shade fortunate to escape a booking for a crude challenge on Lawless. Clancy settles on a lecture on this occasion.
First blood to Thistle and it is a stunning goal from Kyle Turner. He collects the ball deep inside the Queen's box, turns past a defender and absolutely drills a shot past Ferrie and into the net.
Graham flicks a Lawless cross field pass into the path of Tiffoney but he is caught offside.
There is a strange atmosphere inside Firhill. There is a good sized crowd in but you can hear the players, in particular David Mitchell, bellowing away. An indication perhaps of the nervy start, that Turner chance aside, that Thistle have made.
Much, much better from Thistle as Turner wriggles his way towards a shooting opportunity and he sees his effort clear the Queen's crossbar by mere inches.
And test them they do with Fox striking the frame of the Thistle goal following Thomas' free kick. It's been an extremely nervy start from Thistle.
Queen's win a free kick wide on the left and have a chance to test the Thistle defence.
There is hesitation at the back from Thistle allowing Longridge to advance. He squares the ball to Savoury who is only inches off target with his shot from the edge of the box.
It's Thistle that get this play-off first leg underway. Shooting towards a noisy John Lambie Stand in the first half.
There was disappointment on Friday when Thistle couldn't quite manage the win that would have secured a second place finish but focus now is well and truly on the Play-Offs and a quarter-final first leg against Queen's Park.
For the third game in a row manager Kris Doolan has selected the same starting eleven as excitement is starting to grow ahead of kick-off at a sunny Firhill.
