Thistle fail to make the Cup Final losing 2-1 to Raith Rovers. 

The ball is in the arms of Thomson and we are all but done here. 

Austin gets clear in the box on the right hand side but shoots weekly straight at Thomson. 

Minimum of 4 minutes additional time to be played. 

Nearly an equaliser as an Austin shot hits the post. 

Gordon knocks an O'Connor cross wide. He thinks it should be a corner but play restarts with a goal kick. 

There is a glimmer of hope for Thistle as Mansell heads home a Cardle cross. 

Mansell flicks the ball back in the direction of Gordon whose first time volley flies straight at the waiting Thomson. 

You can't keep handing teams gilt edged opportunities and hope not to be punished and Thistle are finally, and deservedly, punished when Hendry shoots past a motionless Fox. 

Boos ring out from the home fans as Raith miss a simple chance to double their advantage and surely book a place in the Final. Matthews has a free header no more than 8 yards out and can do no more than hit the top of the bar. 

Raith miss a glorious chance to extend their lead. Spencer plays a ball through for Bowie who has time and space inside the Thistle box but shoots high and wide. 

Thomson stretches out a arm to push away a Gordon header. 

Bannigan's corner is cleared. Thistle pick the ball up again and Penrice crosses from the other side of the park. His cross picks out Saunders but Thomson has little difficulty in collecting his header. 

And Rovers are again close and Fox again saves this time from Baird. 

Raith are close to extending their lead and it takes a good stop from Fox to deny Hendry. 

Bowie is able get into space in behind the Thistle defence after a player dives into a challenge at the half way line. Bowie advances as far as the edge of the Thistle box but his shot clears the bar.

Thistle clear the corner and attempt to break but Cole is held up at the halfway line. 

MacLean's shot takes a deflection. 

Gordon forces Thomson into a save low to his right with a first time shot from a Graham knock down. 

Thistle start the half on the front foot but Thomson eases some early pressure on his goal when he claims a Cardle cross. 

It's been an open, entertaining first half with the difference between the two teams Thistle's inability to defend set pieces.

Bannigan floats the free kick into the box. It's Saunders that gets there but he can't shape his body to direct the ball goalwards. 

Thistle have a free kick deep inside the Rovers half over near the right corner of the penalty box. 

Graham advances into the Rovers box but can do not better than to smack a shot off a retreating defender. 

Graham plays the ball to the feet of Jones at the edge of the box. Jones is able to turn but can't keep his shot down and Raith have a goal kick. 

Cole swings the corner over. O'Ware powers forward to reach it but his header is wide. 

Cardle plays the ball through to Penrice whose shot is saved. 

Raith have their tails up at the moment and Baird finds space about 25 yards out but can only lift his shot over the Thistle crossbar. 

It's a good inswinging corner from Tait but negligent defending from Thistle that allows Benedictus to find the net with a header from 6 yards out. Yet another cheap goal conceded. 

Cardle plays the ball up to the feet of Jones at the edge of the box but Jones isn't strong enough and a defender is able to brush him away from the ball. 

Another opening for Thistle this time coming the way of Cardle. His shot though is very poor and doesn't threaten the Rovers goal. 

Thistle are close to a goal. Cole picks up an excellent forward pass and in turn feeds the ball through to Jones. Jones hangs a cross to Graham at the back post and it takes a good block by a defender to prevent Graham from hitting the target. 

Graham has the ball in the net for Thistle but he is clearly offside when he collects Jones' effort at goal after he had been set up by Cardle. 

Cardle weaves his way across the edge of the Raith box before he eventually loses the ball. 

It's getting very heated and Bannigan is next to collect a yellow card for a late challenge. A bit of revenge over the 'red card' incident from moments earlier perhaps?

Matthews is very late on Penrice and a red card is initially flashed in his direction. Referee Newlands though appears to have pulled out the wrong card and quickly produces a yellow instead. 

Cardle slips a pass to Cole to his right. Cole shoots for goal from about 6 yards outside the Raith box. His shot is on target but it is an easy save for Thomson. 

There are boos from the away fans when Cardle collects the ball. Those boos turn to jeers as he over hits his pass to Penrice to his left but another hint of something promising from Thistle. 

Thistle break with a bit of pace but any progress towards the Raith goal is halted when Cole is penalised for a foul near the corner of the penalty box. First encouraging sign from The Jags all the same. 

There is a noisy away support in and they almost have something to cheer inside the first minute. Bowie wins the ball in midfield and advances towards goal but his shot is a poor one and goes wide. 

Raith Rovers kick the game off. Thistle are shooting towards the City End in the first half. 

A Cup Final slot is up for grabs for both sides at Firhill this evening. 

Injuries combined with a number of players being cup tied in this season's competition has restricted the options open to Ian McCall and his side shows a number of changes from the side that went don to defeat Dundee last weekend. 

Into the side come Alex Jones, Shea Gordon and Steven Saunders.
