This Sunday 21st May, PTWFC take on Hibs at Petershill Park for a 16:10 kick off.
Thistle come off the back of a 2-1 defeat against Glasgow City in a tough defeat. A great showing from the Jags against the league leaders that nearly saw them take a point away from the game.
Focus now shifts onto the last game of the season as we look to finish the season with a bang here at Petershill Park.

💻️Highlights and reaction post match
Hibs have had a good season, picking up 36 points so far in the league from a possible 93. Securing 5th position, Dean Gibson will be looking to put on one last performance for the Hibees as he departs this summer having spent many years in charge of the green side of Edinburgh. Having suffered defeat against Celtic in their most recent match despite a strong performance, they’ll look to use this momentum as they make the trip to Petershill Park on Sunday afternoon.
The last meeting between the squads ended in a 3-1 defeat at Meadowbank Stadium in a tightly contested game between the sides. The Hibees came out on top when we went to the capital and the Jags will be hoping to exact revenge when we welcome them to Glasgow for this final fixture of the season.
Thistle made the “away” trip to Petershill Park as we faced the current league leaders in what was a must win game for Glasgow City. With victories for Celtic and Rangers earlier in the day, the pressure was all on the top side. Thistle went in with a clear game plan, played to their strengths and frustrated City, which you could see from the way they played. Lauren Davidson increased her tally for the season in controversial fashion as Abbie Ferguson suffered what appeared to be a clear foul in the build up to the opener yet the referee saw no wrongdoing, something that infuriated the Jags and fans alike.
At around the 60th minute mark, Rebecca McGowan found herself on the end of a pinpoint cross from Amy Bulloch and volleyed the ball past Clachers in net,.
Heartbreak would strike late once more for Thistle as for the second time in as many weeks, a late goal would give the lead to City as Priscilla Chinchilla would put the ball past Megan Cunningham who couldn’t quite keep it out despite getting a hand on the ball.
Brian Graham touched in his post match reaction how proud he was once more that we could bring this fight and it again always goes back to that word belief that has become second nature to the girls. Considering just a couple short months ago we suffered a heavy 8-1 defeat to Glasgow City, for them to be forced to hold the ball in the corner to secure the victory shows just how far this club has come.
Strong followings from the Red and Yellow Army so far this season have really helped our girls. Your support has played a massive part helping the Jags and we hope to see as many of you as possible against Hibs at home on Sunday afternoon for our final game of this historic season
Skipper Demi Falconer’s perfect season unfortunately comes to an end here
as she is suspended after picking up her fourth yellow card of the season.
In more positive news, Cara Henderson and Linzi Taylor return from their suspensions with both in contention for this match.
with a limited squad in recent match there will be again a few knocks and niggles to be assessed by our physio and management team as we head into this
final game of the season.
Sunday marks the end of Kim Murphy’s playing career. A true Thistle legend loved by all involved with the club, it’ll be a sad moment as she laces her boots and pulls on the red and yellow for the last time. We will always be grateful that our left back was Kim Murphy and wish her the best of luck with her next steps going forward. #Don’tChaWish
Another player hvaing her last bow in Red and Yellow is our longest serving player and someone who has moved through th divisions and been with us through this journey, defender Taylor McGlashan. It would be good to give both players a well deserved goodbye.

Season 2022-2023 has been a fantastic, historic, one for Partick Thistle Women’s FC. A top six finish was beyond the expectations of just about everyone outside of the Thistle dressing room. The performances produced since the very first SWPL1 split suggest that this Club is very much moving in a forward direction.
Unfortunately they were unable to end the season by finding the victory that their post split performances have merited as Hibernian exited Petershill Park with all three points on an afternoon that just didn’t signify the end of the season, but for two the end of their Partick Thistle careers.
For Kim Murphy this game brought down the curtain not just on her time as Thistle player but also on her playing career as she hangs up her boots. Fittingly she took the captain’s armband for this game and although she wasn’t able to finish her career as part of a winning team she did have the satisfaction of having a literal hand, or hands, in the Thistle goal in the 2-1 defeat.
For Taylor McGlashan, who spoke eloquently about her ending a long and distinguished Thistle career during the week, it was a heart breaking way to end her time as Jag. Her last two seasons have been marred by injury and it was cruel in the extreme that her time as a Partick Thistle player ended with her in pain on the Petershill Park pitch having picked up another, serious looking, injury. We wish her a speedy recovery.
McGlashan had been involved in the action early making an important challenge inside the box as Hibs had the better of the early exchanges.
Hinds sent a shot wide of Megan Cunningham’s left hand post after 13 minutes before the same player opened the scoring for Hibs 3 minutes later. Cunningham did well to block a Tweedie effort but Hinds was on hand to net from close range.
Thistle were behind though for less than 10 minutes.
Murphy’s throw was collected inside the box by Cara Henderson who spun towards goal before sending a shot into the net via the inside if the post.
Having trailed Thistle were a whisker away from taking the lead in their very next attack. Abbie Ferguson, playing her last game for Thistle while on loan from Celtic, found Rachel Donaldson to her left and Donaldson was unfortunate to see her shot hit the outside of the post.
Cunningham saved well from McAlonie and Ferguson saw a shot fizz over the bar after collecting a Donaldson pass as both sides looked to take a lead into the dressing room at half-time.
The second half was just seconds old when the game did have a third, and ultimately decisive goal, when Clare Docherty inadvertently diverted the ball past her own goalkeeper when trying to block a shot.
Henderson smacked a shot off the post as Thistle looked to restore equality in double quick time and Ferguson was unfortunate to see her flicked effort go wide of the post.
Sub Claire Adams saw a drive go wide and a Henderson shot suffered a similar fate as Thistle pressed for an equaliser as time started to run out on the home side. When a Linzi Taylor header from a Docherty cross was just a shade too high to threaten the Hibs goal you felt that this just wasn’t going to be Thistle’s day, and so it proved.
