It's another bitter disappointment for Thistle as they are well beaten again.
Fitzpatrick takes the corner that he won but once again Thistle fail to threaten the Rovers goal from the set play.
MacDonald can't make a clean save from a McKinnon shot but Thistle can't bundle the loose ball into the net and a rare chance for Thistle goes abegging.
Milne can't get himself on the end of a teasing Hodson cross.
Mitchell gathers the corner and quickly launches the ball forward looking for Mullen who is held off by his marker.
Dowds is able to flick on a Hodson throw but MacDonald collects at his back post.
Rovers are doing little more than simply keeping Thistle at arms length and it is all too comfortable for them.
Brown gets his head to Turner's corner to get the ball clear.
Hodson over hits a cross when in a good position on the right-hand side of the Rovers box.
Easton's shot is blocked by Milne with the ball spinning into the arms of Mitchell. Just for a second it looked as if the ball would deflect over Mitchell for a 4th Raith Rovers goal.
Thistle try and maintain pressure on the Rovers goal after Turner's corner is cleared by the home side win a free kick at the edge of their own box.
It's a great cross from McKinnon that Dick does well to clear over his own bar.
The second of Turner's corners is hacked clear from the goal line with Thistle claims that the ball had crossed the line.
Thistle have made two changes at the break with Turner and Mullen on and Akinola and Lawless off. McMillan has moved to the centre of defence and Hodson to right back.
Boos ring out from the away end as the half-time whistle sounds, and can you blame them?
Poor doesn't do justice to that first half display from Thistle.
Into first half injury time.
Connell goes for power with the penalty and slams the ball down the middle as Mitchell goes to his left.
Referee Duncan spots a push.
Milne heads clear Easton's corner but the ball is quickly back in the Thistle half.
McMillan is across quickly to whip the ball away from Stanton as Rovers look to extend their lead further.
Thistle are nearly gifted a way back into the match but Dowds can't convert and when the ball breaks to Smith at the edge of the ball he sends his effort over the bar.
It's far, far too easy. Connell's long throw finds Connolly unmarked in front of the Thistle goal and he is left with the simple task of knocking the ball home. Even with two thirds of the game left a route back into the game looks unlikely.
Connell gets his head to a cross from the Rovers' right, but Mitchell is there to save.
A Rovers counter attack is halted by some neat defending by McMllan who gets the ball away from Connell.
Bannigan's free kick is poor, but Rovers concede a needless corner which is cleared.
Smith needs some treatment before Thistle can take the free kick.
Thistle have the ball at the Rovers box but play is stopped for an earlier infringement and Thistle have to make do with a free kick rather than an effort at goal.
Bannigan lifts the free kick high to the corner of the Rovers box where although McKinnon does win the ball, he can't find Dowds with his flick on.
Lawless has his heels clipped and Thistle have a free kick deep inside the Rovers half.
Lawless' pass finds Dowds in the box, but the flag goes up for offside. That's the first spell of possession in the Rovers half that Thistle have had since the loss of the opening goal.
Rovers come forward again with pace. Easton finds Ngwenya to his left, but Mitchell claims his cross.
A long throw into the Thistle box is cleared only as far as Brown at the edge of the box and his first-time effort is just a little wide of goal. Dangerous spell this for Thistle who need to make sure that they don't fall further behind.
Easton finds Ngwenya and Thistle scramble his cross clear as Rovers look to add a quick fire second goal.
Rovers enjoy the break of the ball in midfield after an Akinola challenge. Connolly advances and this time his shot leaves Mitchell with no chance and after a bright opening Thistle find themselves behind.
The home side break quickly and Connolly sees a shot from the edge of the box held by Mitchell.
Smith passes to Bannigan who sees his shot pushed away by MacDonald. Positive signs from Thistle inside the game's first 10 minutes.
The second of McKinnon's corners is delivered deep into the 6-yard box where Rovers are pressed to clear. When they do Bannigan picks up the ball at the edge of the box and Thistle continue to threaten.
Thistle get the game underway and will be shooting towards the travelling Jags support in the first half.
Thistle will be hoping to return to winning ways this afternoon and climb a few places up an increasingly tight league table.
Manager Ian McCall has made three changes to his starting eleven.
In come Cammy Smith, Cole McKinnon and Steven Lawless.
Kyle Turner and Darren Brownlie will start the afternoon on the bench while Brian Graham misses out.
Scott Tiffoney, Kevin Holt and Ross Docherty remain absentees as the depth of the Thistle squad is tested.
Steven Lawless takes the captain's armband this afternoon.
