Partick Thistle Hall of Famer Kris Doolan took interim charge of the Jags on 12th February 2023, taking over from Ian McCall.
Doolan’s first game as temporary Thistle boss came at Somerset Park as his team secured a 1-0 win over Ayr United thanks to a goal from Danny Mullen.
After two wins and a draw in his first three games in charge, Kris was officially appointed as permanent manager in March 2023.
The Maryhill men lost twice in their 19 games at the end of the 22/23 campaign under Doolan, making it to the Premiership play-off final where they were ultimately beaten by Ross County in a penalty shootout.
In Kris’ first full season as Thistle boss he had to contend with a summer of uncertainty due to the club’s financial position but still put together a squad which finished third in the Championship.
The Jags navigated a way past Airdrieonians in the Premiership play-off quarter-finals but lost on penalties against Raith Rovers at the semi-final stage.
