Alan Archibald’s loyal assistant manager is another former player of Thistle with Scott racking up almost 75 appearances in the two seasons he spent at Firhill.
Scott’s playing career was blighted by injuries and after he had to take the devastating decision to retire early, he was keen to remain in football. He began his coaching career as a youth coach at Aberdeen before being recruited by Gary Bollan at Livingston. It was a successful time for Scott as he helped Livingston win consecutive promotions to send Livingston back to the First Division.
When Alan asked Scott to help him in January 2013, he jumped at the opportunity to join his former team-mate and together the duo have made a formidable coaching team, with Thistle enjoying their longest spell in the top flight of Scottish football for 20 years.
