This Sunday February 9th, PTWFC take on Hearts in a SWPL match at the Oriam in a 13:00 kickoff.
A midweek trip to Aberdeen all but ruled out top 6 for the Jags as we look to go through to the capital and prove ourselves against a very tough Hearts team.

Hearts have had a fantastic season by all accounts sitting 5th in the table with 41 points. While that may seem lower than the 4th place they secured last season, Eva Olid’s side have grabbed many big results this season, such as a 1-0 win against Celtic, a 4-0 victory against Hibs and a 0-0 draw against Glasgow City.
New signings Bayley Hutchison and Eilidh Shore have settled in well following summer moves from Aberdeen, with the latter receiving her first senior Scotland call up while twins Erin and Jessica Husband have been shining stars in Maroon at just 16 years of age.
Always an enjoyable match between the two sides, there’s a lot at stake for both sides as we make the journey to the capital to face a strong Hearts outfit
Thistle made the away trip up to Aberdeen knowing it would be a tough fixture with the Jags at reduced numbers due to work commitments. Scott Booth has recruited well since he took charge with Kerry Anne Beattie and Emma Ilijoski signing on loan from Hearts, Ellie May Cowan making the move from Dundee United and Alix Mendez switching Ireland for the SWPL having joined from Cork City. All of those signings started for Aberdeen as they looked to frustrate Thistle with a back 5.
Aberdeen started the better side and it took a worldie of a save from their former number one Jeni Currie to prevent the Dons from taking the lead. Thistle tried to counteract by using the pace and flair of Mae English, the 16 year old making her first start for Thistle, however not much was coming together. Georgia Gray and Lucy Sinclair did their best to create from the midfield but again not a lot paid off. Tiree Burchill had a great opportunity to give thistle the lead but fell just shy. The game ended 0-0 with Brian Graham openly disappointed after the match saying he felt this was a real opportunity for a last ditch push for top six but being realistic and aware of the final 3 games, knew it was over. He wants to end the normal season on a high and prepare fully for the final fixtures, starting with Hearts on Sunday.
Strong Followings from the Red and Yellow army have helped our girls massively. We would love to see as many of you make the journey through to the capital and cheer on the Jags.
Rachel Donaldson makes her return to the matchday squad having been unavailable for Aberdeen due to work commitments. Rebecca McAllister has been working very hard to recover from injury having been out since November and she has returned to full training while Cara Henderson and Ellie Kane are making progress as the weeks go on. Jenna Ferguson continues to miss out through injury.
With that being said, it will be up to the gaffer and the rest of the management team to field the best possible side heading into this fixture with a game against Hearts..
