Montrose have struggled in their first three games this season having yet to pick up a point thus far.
Having made the step up from SWPL2 last season after being crowned champions, Craig Feroz will hope to make an impact as they make the journey to Petershill Park.
He’ll look to take the positives from a midweek defeat against Aberdeen as they look to face a strong Thistle side
Thistle have performed very well this season, having picked up 6 points from a possible 9 available. Having kept two clean sheets in those victories, manager Brian Graham will look to continue on wards as we welcome the challenge that Montrose pose.
Wednesday night’s victory over Hamilton Accies was a sign of things to come. A youthful XI started against the Lanarkshire outfit, one aspect that manager Brian Graham has earned a lot of praise for. A debut clean sheet from 17 year old Ava Easdon was very impressive, whilst last year’s top scorer Cara Henderson added another to her tally this season making it four from three. Other notable performances included Jenna Ferguson, again just 17 years old, putting in another solid shift in defence while Emma Lawton scored her first goal since making her return to the Jags this summer.
Strong Followings from the Red and Yellow army was instrumental in helping our girls last season during their historic top half finish. We hope to see as many of you as possible this Sunday at Petershill Park.
A similar squad appears to be available for Sunday following Wednesday’s trip to Hamilton.
Clare Docherty is facing a late fitness test heading into Sunday’s match while Linzi Taylor is close to full fitness and again will be assessed prior to the game against Montrose.
Long term absentee Cheryl McCulloch is likely to remain out while Rachel Donaldson is working her way back from injury but likely to miss out.
It will be up to manager Brian Graham and the rest of the management team to decide the strongest eleven for this game.
