Our final Sunday at home sees us face Montrose in a must win game for both sides.

Montrose come into this fixture knowing they’ll need to keep their unbeaten mentality against Thistle as the threat of relegation looms over their head. Currently sitting 10th, Craig Feroz’s side have been battling away to break out of the relegation zone putting in strong showings against the sides in the bottom half.
Montrose have had the upper hand over Thistle this season, winning the most recent fixture between the sides 2-0 at their home turf. Our girls are aware of the stakes at hand and know that a win here will secure safety in the SWPL1 next season.
Thistle made the trip to Cove to face Aberdeen last week with confidence having had an unbeaten April. Knowing the ability Scott Booth’s side possessed, it was going to be a challenge but one our girls were up for.
It was a difficult day out in the end for Brian Graham’s side as Aberdeen looked to use their home environment to their advantage. This happened almost instantly for the Dons as Hannah Stewart opened the scoring after just 4 minutes.
The home side continued to snuff out any chances from the Jags. Ellie May Cowie would wrap up all 3 points for the hosts and make it 2-0 in the closing minutes, seeing Thistle come away back to Glasgow empty handed.
Strong Followings from the Red and Yellow army have helped our girls massively. Our final weekend fixture at home awaits us here and we’d love to see as many of you make Petershill a fortress as we can.
A similar side to last week is expected for this weekend. Some fitness tests have been conducted over the last few days to help manage fitness levels heading towards the final week.
With that being said, it will be up to the gaffer and the rest of the management team to field the best possible side heading into this fixture with a game against Montrose.
