🆚 Our Opponents: Motherwell

Motherwell have had a decent season thus far. They currently take the 8th position in the table, with 13 points in as many games. Having only won 4 fixtures this season, it is important to note that all of them came at K-Park so they do have a slight advantage when it comes to playing at home.

Having already faced the Jags in September at Petershill Park and losing 1-0, ‘Well manager Paul Brownlie will be looking to make an improvement from that day and grab all 3 points against an inform Thistle side..

Last season saw some great fixtures between both sides, notably Rachel Donaldson doing what she does best and scoring worldies, including last season’s goal of the season against Motherwell. Hopefully a repeat can be found here as we make the trip to East Kilbride.

📈Thistle so far

A 1-0 victory in Dundee on Sunday afternoon kept the good times rolling as the Jags continued their win streak. Having welcomed several players back to the squad after their absence against Aberdeen, Thistle played to their strengths once more and returned home with all 3 points.

As previously mentioned, Rachel Donaldson is known to score a worldie or two. This game was no different as she found the top corner from distance leaving the Tangerines stunned. It would prove to be the only goal of the match and what a strike it was.

Brian Graham would speak after the game of how proud he was of his girls, but again felt slightly deflated. Whilst proud that they would go away to Dundee and grab all 3 points, the squad felt annoyed they didn’t put the game to bed. He felt they could’ve put 4 or 5 away but regardless was pleased to get the victory.

Strong Followings from the Red and Yellow army have really helped our girls this season. We would love to see as many of you as possible as we make the journey out to East Kilbride for this league fixture..

🗞 Team News

A full squad is available for Brian Graham and the management team for this upcoming fixture so it will be up to them to make the best squad available.

Cheryl McCulloch has started light training and a video was published this week showing her finally back running on a pitch. The road is still long but it’s a great sight for our number 4 to be working away to return.
