Partick Thistle Football Club is proud to confirm this week’s timeline to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our iconic 1971 Scottish League Cup win.
Friday 22 October: Premiere showing of our 1971 League Cup celebration documentary in the Alan Rough Lounge. In addition to those who purchased one of our 1971 packages which included access to this event, we are now able to offer up to 50 places to any supporter who wishes to attend. The event takes place in the Alan Rough Lounge this Friday, opening at 6.30pm with the premiere starting at 7.30pm. If you wish to attend please email with “1971 premiere” as your email subject and include the total number of attendees and names within your message. These 50 places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Following the premiere, the documentary will be available for all supporters to enjoy online at no cost.
Saturday 23 October: 1971 squad members will be present at Firhill for our cinch Championship match v Dunfermline Athletic, 50 years to the day since the 1971 Scottish League Cup Final win, with the first team playing in the new 1971 replica kit and a range of celebrations planned across the day. Tickets to Saturday’s match are available to purchase now HERE.
Sunday 24 October: Celebratory “Lunch With The Legends” to commemorate the 1971 success, held at Hampden Stadium with members of the cup winning squad in attendance. Please note this event, kindly sponsored by Cane and Grain International, is completely sold out.
Finally, to complete the year of celebrations, the club is planning for a 1921 and 1971 exhibition to be held at Firhill over a number of evenings in November and December. More details will be confirmed in a separate update soon.
