Club Statement

We are aware of growing public debate around a recent The Jags Foundation member circular expressing concern about the Board’s leadership and direction. While we will not engage in a public back-and-forth, the club believes that it is only correct to reassure supporters, sponsors, and prospective players that we remain focused and united in our shared ambition for Partick Thistle to thrive.

We would advise that we were especially disappointed to see the statement on Sunday, as it was issued after a meeting had been agreed to take place today to discuss these matters.

Also, despite an incredibly busy time that included two rounds of play-offs, Head Coach Recruitment and Season Ticket Launch, the club last week proactively tabled to the Trustees a proposed five-year strategic plan and a revised governance framework. These are two key documents which we believe will alleviate many of the concerns which the Trustees have raised. We have expressed our willingness to work together on these documents and eagerly await a response.

Constructive challenge is part of fan ownership, and we welcome honest conversations with all of our supporter stakeholders, including the elected fan representatives who presently sit on our Club Board and contribute to our decision-making every day.

We are committed to high standards, and where there are lessons to learn or improvements to make, we will take them seriously.

We will always also remain focused on the bigger picture.

This is a pivotal time for the Club as we prepare for the new season: building a squad, selling season tickets, and working to attract commercial partners who believe in our vision.

Stability and professionalism are key if we are to strengthen Partick Thistle both on and off the pitch. For our part, the club will not contribute to instability by responding in detail to the TJF statement.

We will instead look to discuss these issues amicably and privately in the agreed meeting.

We are incredibly grateful to the fans who continue to back the Club with their support, their energy and their belief. That same belief is shared by our staff, players and volunteers, who work hard every day to deliver for Thistle. We remain focused on progress — and on doing things the right way.

We look forward to a productive meeting with the Trustees this week and, as ever, our door remains open to those who want to play a constructive role in taking the Club forward.
