A successful Business Club return

Our first Business Club event since the Covid pandemic took place last night in the Alan Rough Lounge.

Hosted by our very own Brian Welsh, we had two guest speakers who had all of our guests captivated with two fantastic, engaging talks.

First up was current Thistle manager, Ian McCall who spoke about his experience in professional football management, including the changes in football since he started out as fledgling manager in the late 20th century to closing in on 1,000 professional games managed.

Our second speaker was current Chief Executive of the Scottish Football Association, Ian Maxwell. Fresh from arriving back from Poland having watched the Scotland men’s side win promotion top UEFA Nations League A, Ian spoke about his journey through football, from player to boardroom, and the challenges the sport faces in tackling mental health, before expressing his excitement ahead of the upcoming Scotland women’s team’s World Cup play-offs.

A fantastic night was had by all attendees with more than 25 different businesses represented in the Alan Rough Lounge.

As revealed last night by our Club Chief Executive, Gerry Britton, we can confirm details of our October Business Club event.
