Partick Thistle Women’s FC is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Abbie Ferns for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper spent five-and-a-half years in the Celtic youth set up before joining Kilmarnock in the summer following a loan spell at the back end of last season.
She starting her footballing journey at our pathway club Drumchapel United as a 10-year-old before moving on to Celtic and now finds her way back to Partick Thistle
Abbie has featured in our last two matchday squads as a trialist but now officially joins the Jags to provide competition between the sticks
.Abbie said: “I’m really happy to become a Thistle player. I’ve been in for a few weeks on trial and the players have been really welcoming and the coaches have been fantastic.
“You can see way the club is growing and the quality here so to be able to come in and learn and look to push myself is great.
I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season”
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said: “I’m delighted to welcome Abbie into the club. We’ve started the season with only one goalkeeper so we’ve been keeping an eye out for the correct player to bring in.
When we heard Abbie was available we jumped at the chance to bring her in. She’s a young goalkeeper with a lot of potential”
