November was an unprecedented month of success for Partick Thistle Women’s FC. Faced with a difficult set of fixtures which included trips to Aberdeen, Dundee and East Kilbride, the Jags stood up to the challenge and won all five of their games finishing the month in fourth place in the league as well as in the Sky Sports Cup semi-finals.
Now, as we head into a new month, it’s time to select your Adapt Commercial Property Player of the Month:
Claire Adams
Having started the month among the substitutes, it was in our Sky Sports Cup quarter-final against Montrose that Claire Adams made her impact. Coming on at the hour mark with the team trailing by a goal, she played an instrumental part in the turnaround which would book a spot in the last four for the Jags. She went on to start the subsequent three league games, again playing an important role in the Thistle engine room.
Rachel Donaldson
Nominated for the league’s Player of the Month award, Rachel Donaldson’s November was filled with impressive contributions to the red and yellow cause. A goal and an assist in the 2-1 cup win over Montrose was followed up by the winning goal away to Dundee United and a second half stunner in the come-from-behind victory against Motherwell. The goal against Montrose was an uncharacteristically simple one but she returned to form with the latter two, finding the top corner from outside the box on both occasions.
Imogen Longcake
Much like Claire Adams, Imogen Longcake’s month was kickstarted by a substitute appearance against Montrose. The winger set up Rachel Donaldson’s equaliser and then scored the winner herself against the Gable Endies earning herself a place in the starting XI for the remainder of the month. She ended November with a crucial double against Motherwell, turning a one-goal deficit into a lead in a matter of three minutes with a clever run and simple finish followed by a screamer from outside the box.
Rosie Slater
November 2023 will always be a memorable month for Rosie Slater as it was the month she finally scored her first competitive goal for Partick Thistle and it was a very timely one too. With the team trailing away to Aberdeen early in the second half, a loose ball fell to the defender and she fired a rocket through the fog into the top corner to draw the team level on the way to a 3-1 victory. Apart from scoring stunners, Rosie also played her part in two clean sheets as Thistle ended the month having conceded just four times in five matches.
