The month of September was a busy one for Partick Thistle Women’s FC with five games to play as they looked to accelerate following a tough start to the competitive season.
Seven points from their four league matches and progression into the Sky Sports Cup quarter-finals represented an impressive return from a challenging stretch of fixtures with 13 goals scored along the way.
Now, ahead of another big run of games, it’s time to make your pick for Adapt Commercial Property September Player of the Month from the following candidates:
Amy Bulloch
The Jags’ midfield maestro was in top form during September, setting up a goal in four of the team’s five games last month. Bulloch teed up the comeback-sparking goal against Aberdeen at Firhill, the second goal in away wins at Motherwell and Dundee United and the ultimately decisive third goal at home to Spartans in the cup.
Caley Gibb
Thistle’s summer signing from Spartans caught the eye with a goal against her former club in August but September has looked a bit different for the number 19. In the team’s last three games of the month, Caley featured in a somewhat unfamiliar right-back role where she did an admirable job as part of the back four. Helping the team to a clean sheet against Dundee United, Gibb still managed to do her bit going forward as she played a big part in Cara Henderson’s opener against Dundee United and she won a penalty against Spartans in the Sky Sports Cup which was duly converted by Cara Henderson.
Lucy Sinclair
Also getting in on the act in a goal-laden month for the Jags, Lucy Sinclair finished September by scoring in back-to-back games. Having already set one up in the win over Motherwell she then found the net herself, scoring the fourth of four against Dundee United. The midfielder followed that up by firing home Thistle’s third goal against Spartans which ultimately proved to be the winner.
Tiree Burchill
Having opened her Thistle account against Spartans at Ainslie Park last month, Tiree Burchill carried that scoring touch into September. She reacted sharply in the Motherwell box to put Thistle in front at Fir Park en route to a 4-0 win and then rounded off the scoring in another four-goal triumph, this time against Dundee United at Foundation Park. Tiree capped off a productive month by setting up Carla Boyce’s opener in the cup this past weekend.
