An all-timer of a star-studded Partick Thistle legends line-up will attend matchday hospitality against Airdrieonians – headlined by very special guest, Alan Hansen.
Three-time European Cup winner Alan, who served Thistle from 1973 to 1977, will join brother John amongst an array of 1971 Scottish League Cup winning heroes on Saturday 19th October for what is sure to be an unforgettable day in the Alan Rough Lounge.
Thistle’s most capped Scotland internationalist Alan Rough will be there alongside 1971 captain Alex Rae and fellow cup final goalscorers Bobby Lawrie, Denis McQuade and Jimmy Bone, on the home matchday closest to the anniversary of our famous Hampden success. Jags legends Jackie Campbell, Frank Coulston, Joe Craig, Alex Forsyth, John Gibson, Bobby Houston, John Marr and Dougie Somner complete the sensational squad.
A significant number of bookings have already been taken for this hospitality matchday prior to this announcement and with a sell-out guaranteed, we’d encourage supporters to book their place on Fanbase asap today to avoid disappointment.
For media, we appreciate the attendance of Alan Hansen will generate considerable interest however we request that our wish for Alan to be allowed to enjoy a day at the football with family and friends is respected.
We also know all Thistle supporters at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill that day will be keen to show Alan how much he means to the club on his first return to Maryhill in decades. Therefore, we plan for Alan to come on to the pitch for a short period at half-time and receive the ovation of the fans before rejoining his friends in hospitality – we hope this will satisfy supporters and media alike.
