Visitors to Firhill today will notice some new signage in place as we become the first Scottish professional football club, and only second in the world, to have bilingual English and Gaelic signage in situ at the stadium.
The fully funded signage is the result of a new Partick Thistle Gaelic Initiative project in collaboration with Glasgow City Council Gaelic Education Services and Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
Our project aims to increase the visibility and audibility of Gaelic in and around Firhill Stadium and we will be working in partnership with Glasgow City Council on a number of projects and activities to engage Gaelic Medium Education schools.
The main objective of the Partick Thistle Gaelic Initiative is ultimately to increase the number of Gaelic learners, users and speakers through interacting within not only our own fan base, but also in the local community.
An official launch of the project will take place later this month.
