Partick Thistle can today confirm that midfielder Billy Owens has joined East Kilbride on a season long loan deal, subject to Scottish FA clearance.
The Thistle Weir Youth Academy graduate heads out on loan to the Lowland League side to gain vital first team experience.
The 18 year old midfielder featured heavily for the Jags during pre-season, putting in a number of impressive performances in our friendly matches. Billy joins up with the East Kilbride squad ahead of their trip to Berwick Rangers tomorrow afternoon.
We wish Billy every success during his loan spell.
Thistle manager, Ian McCall, said: “Billy was a player I wasn’t sure about sending out on loan as he could have a part to play here at Firhill over the coming months. His long term development, however, is the most important thing and I think that will be best served by heading out on loan to East Kilbride.
“We’ve managed to get all of our Modern Apprentices out on loan this season which is really encouraging. We’ve got them out to good clubs where they will work hard, improve as footballers and get much needed game time in competitive matches.”
