As Jags fans will have noticed at our Viaplay Cup ties against Peterhead and Dundee United, as well as our only open-door pre-season friendly against Kelty Hearts, Thistle have been led out for each game by striker Brian Graham.
Manager Kris Doolan can today confirm to Jags supporters that Brian Graham has been appointed as new Club Captain supported by new Club Vice-Captain, Aaron Muirhead.
Thistle’s number nine joined the club in January 2020 and has gone on to score more than 50 competitive goals in red and yellow in a little over 100 appearances for the club. With passionate performances on the pitch and a demand for high standards within the dressing room, Brian will now lead the side from the front throughout the years ahead.
Partick Thistle Manager Kris Doolan said: “Brian is a born leader and sets a terrific example to the entire club every single day. I personally know the pride and responsibility that comes with wearing the captain’s armband at this club, and I know that Brian will thrive with that honour.
“Aaron Muirhead will be our vice-captain and he is another who all in the dressing room look up to. Brian and Aaron have more than 1,000 games’ experience between them and with a number of talented young players in our squad this season, the experience of both captain and vice-captain will be invaluable as we set out to achieve our targets. Brian may be our captain but we have a squad of leaders all over the pitch doing their best to bring success to Partick Thistle.”
