Partick Thistle can today confirm that Brian Graham has signed a contract extension with the club, keeping him at Firhill until 2023.
The Jags’ number 9 came to Maryhill last January from Ross County and has been a reliable source of goals ever since.
He managed three goals in six Championship games before the 2019/20 season was curtailed and picked up right where he left off for the 20/21 term. He finished last season with 11 goals in 19 League One matches despite playing through injury for much of the season.
Some of the attacker’s standout moments from the title-winning campaign include a double in a 2-0 win over East Fife, a crucial winner at home to Airdrieonians in our first post-split fixture and a brilliant hit from 25 yards to put us 3-0 up against Falkirk the night we secured the League One championship.
On Graham’s extension, Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“Brian was the epitome of everything good about our team last season. He brought a relentless energy and will to win to every single game and that was invaluable to us towards the end of the season. On top of that though, he has tremendous quality which you saw with some of the goals he scored.
“The numbers speak for themselves really and when you consider he was battling through a rib injury for most of the season, it’s incredible he scored as many as he did for us. We’re delighted to sign him up for a further year.”
A video interview with Brian discussing his new deal with be available to JagZone subscribers shortly.
