Caley Gibb joins Hibs on loan

Partick Thistle WFC can confirm that Caley Gibb has joined joint-league leaders Hibernian on loan until the end of the current season.

Caley joined Thistle in the summer from Spartans and very quickly established herself as key member of the Thistle squad. The first of her three goals this season came in just her third appearance as a Thistle player when she opened the scoring in a 2-1 away win over her former club. In total Caley has made 22 appearances as a Partick Thistle player.

Signed initially as an attacking wide player, Caley was moved to right-back after Emma Lawton’s departure to Celtic and has become one of the most exciting full-backs in the SWPL.

All at Partick Thistle WFC wish Caley well in the post-split portion of the season with Hibs involved in a hugely competitive title race.

Manager Brian Graham said: “Caley has been a real bright spark both on and off the field for us this season. She’s been fantastic on the pitch but even more so she’s been great off it with her infectious personality lighting up the dressing room.

“While we’re obviously disappointed to lose a player of her quality for the post-split fixtures, we’ve always made it clear to the girls that we won’t stand in their way of achieving their dreams of becoming full-time footballers. This move gives Caley the opportunity to go on to do that.

“It’s a sense of pride for the club, myself and the coaching staff that she has become the latest player the club has improved to go on to full-time football”
