Partick Thistle FC is pleased to announce the signing of Casper Nilsson on a season-long loan deal from Brighton and Hove Albion, subject to Scottish FA approval and international clearance.
The 20-year-old right-back, originally from southern Sweden, has been with the Seagulls for four years now since joining from Malmo at the age of 16.
He’s featured regularly in Premier League 2 over the past couple of seasons and also played his part in the Brighton academy side’s 2023/24 run to the quarter-finals of the EFL Trophy.
His play in the youth ranks for Albion has earned him opportunities to train with the first team squad as well as call-ups to Sweden’s under 17, under 19 and under 21 squads.
Thistle manager Kris Doolan said:
“We’ve had Casper in training with us for the past few days and we’ve been extremely impressed with what we’ve seen. I know Gordon Greer and Gary Dicker who both work in the academy set-up at Brighton and they both think very highly of Casper.
“On the right-hand side of the defence, he’ll bring pace and energy and a real attacking intent which I think will really fit into our style of play. He’s already fit in well with boys on the training ground and we’re excited to see what he’ll bring to the team.”
