Partick Thistle Football Club and the Partick Thistle Youth Academy can confirm that striker Ceiran Loney has joined Everton for an undisclosed fee plus add-ons.
The youngest ever men’s team player to represent Partick Thistle, when he made his debut at Tannadice in May aged 16, Ceiran’s move means the end of a seven-year spell at Firhill having joined the academy at the age of nine. He first became part of the first team matchday squad back in March, just days after his 16th birthday.
Everyone at the Partick Thistle Youth Academy would like to thank Ceiran for a brilliant contribution through the age groups, fittingly signing off in Alloa in late May with a goalscoring, cup-winning performance in his final game in red and yellow (CAS League Cup Final v Dundee, 26/5/24).
Academy Director Craig Dargo said: “We’re all extremely proud of Ceiran both as a footballer and as a young person as he begins the next chapter of his journey at the Everton Academy, a truly excellent place for him to continue his development.
“We must thank Everton Football Club and the Everton Academy for their professionalism and respect shown throughout their dealings with the football club, the academy, Ceiran and his family.
“Throughout his seven years at the Partick Thistle Youth Academy Ceiran has been a superstar, not only through his abilities on the pitch but also thanks to his natural leadership qualities, his commitment to training and learning and the way he has always supported his team mates. He is a shining example of what can be achieved at the Partick Thistle Youth Academy and will always be warmly welcomed back at both the club and academy.
“Ceiran begins his pre-season training at Everton today and does so with our full support and best wishes – we offer Ceiran and his family the very best of luck and look forward to seeing and hearing what he achieves in the next stages of his development.”
