Charlie Sayers departs by mutual consent

Partick Thistle have agreed to part company with left sided defender Charlie Sayers by mutual consent.

The 20 year old joined the Jags in the summer after starting his career at Southend United where he made his breakthrough into the first team as a 17-year-old and then spending two and a half years playing for under-21 side at Tottenham Hotspur where he won a Premier League 2 Winners’ Medal last season

Charlie made his Thistle debut against Falkirk last August before going on to make seven further appearances.

Partick Thistle manager Kris Doolan said: “It was a bold move from Charlie to move 500 miles north and sample senior first team football for the first time. He moved up himself and, when you do that you want to be playing however Harry Milne’s form meant that he was kept waiting on the sidelines.”

“Harry returned to the side last weekend after injury and following discussions with Charlie it was agreed that leaving Firhill now and giving him the chance to look for another club was the best course of action.”
