Partick Thistle WFC are delighted to announce that Clare Docherty has signed on for another season at Petershill Park under Brian Graham.
Docherty is the Jags’ longest-serving active player having arrived from Kilmarnock back in December 2019 when she signed alongside Kim Murphy and Colette Fleming.
Since then, Clare has racked up more than 100 appearances in Thistle colours, scoring 20 goals along the way and becoming a bona fide legend at PTWFC.
Playing as an attacking midfielder when she was first signed, our number eight has been more frequently seen playing at full-back over the past couple of seasons consistently displaying a fighting spirit and commitment to the team which many of her teammates feed off.
Clare said:
I’m proud to be the longest serving player at the club and I’ve really fallen in love with this football club over the last almost 5 years.
“It’s been an amazing journey so far and we’ve achieved so much in my time here. The fans have really taken to me and the feeling is mutual, so I can’t wait to be back next season to see what we can achieve together next”
Manager Brian Graham said: “Clare has been with me since the start here and there is a reason she is still here after all this time. She gives her all for the badge every time she goes out onto that pitch and really helps set the tone for the rest of the team.
“She has an aggression and drive that is very hard to find so I’m looking forward to having her back in Red and Yellow next season.
