Partick Thistle Women’s FC is thrilled to announce that 20/21 top scorer Clare Docherty will be back for the upcoming campaign.
Our number eight featured in all of our games last season, starting 17 of 18 fixtures and was the team’s most prolific attacking force, scoring 10 goals and assisting seven.
She was particularly ruthless after the SWPL 2 return in June finding the net six times in our final eight matches, including openers against Boroughmuir Thistle and St. Johnstone, earning her a nomination for the SWPL June Player of the Month award. She has also been nominated for the SWPL 2 Player of the Year prize.
After agreeing her return, Clare said: “I’m excited to be back for another season. Last year was great for me personally but as a team we were disappointed to miss out on promotion. I’m looking forward to going out and trying to score more goals to help us reach our aim this season”
PTWFC manager Brian Graham said: “We’re delighted to have Clare back for another season. She was an important player for us last season and was our top scorer. There was interest in Clare from elsewhere, but it shows the squad we are building and our aims for the season that she has decided to stay in Red and Yellow”
