Club Update – 23rd April 2020

The Partick Thistle Board would like to provide an update to supporters on revenues recently generated for the club, as well as our position on 2019/20 season ticket refunds.

Our starting point is to say another sincere “thank you” to all supporters in the Partick Thistle family, who have rallied round in so many ways over the past month or so. We are in unprecedented times and know that many of you are experiencing difficulties of your own. That makes the total revenues generated since the middle of March humbling – the figure has now just passed the £100,000 mark.

This total comes from:

  • Thistle supporters GoFundMe fundraising page (led by Caroline Mackie): £29,720
  • Donations made directly and by post: £20,000+
  • Club initiatives such as Centenary Club, Tiles, 50/50 draw, player sponsorship: £10,000+
  • Advance sales of 2020/21 season tickets, 239 as of this morning: £40,000+ (these remain available including 50% part-payment option – visit www.ptfc.co.uk/season-tickets/)

To have raised this sum of money in such a short space of time is overwhelming and all the more remarkable given this is a time when we are unable to host matchdays – again, we can’t thank fans enough. As we have said before, we are tackling this situation in phases and this income helps ensure the club remains in a strong position despite all the current uncertainly.

With the official end of the 2019/20 Ladbrokes Championship season, Partick Thistle FC will now make partial refunds available to all 2019/20 season ticket holders in line with the five home league matches not played. The club fully appreciates that a refund may be much needed in some households at this time. So those season ticket holders should request a refund, instructions for doing so are below. Refunds should be applied for no later than Friday, 1 May.

However, to put it in to context, should all 2019/20 season ticket holders claim a refund the total cost to the club would be in excess of £80,000 –  so any fans who can afford to consider not taking up the offer would help assist with the club’s current financial considerations.

Any fans wishing a refund can claim the amount detailed in the table below. Please phone 0141 579 1971 or email   with your season ticket number, contact number and BACS details.

For those fans who had purchased 2019/20 season tickets using the club’s finance scheme, a respective amount has been credited to each Orchard Funding account that had a balance outstanding.

Once again, we thank all fans for their incredible support, financial or otherwise, in recent weeks and hope this latest update is helpful to you. Most of all, we continue to encourage you to follow government and NHS advice and look after yourselves and one another. There is nothing more important than the wellbeing of all connected with Partick Thistle. Football will eventually return to Firhill – and we want to see everyone there.
