The Board of Directors has today announced that it has asked Jacqui Low to rejoin the Club’s Board, filling the vacancy created by the death of Colin Weir. At a Board meeting earlier this week, Directors voted unanimously to invite her on to the Board and take on the role of Chairman. She has accepted and will be in post with immediate effect.
A spokesman for the Board said: “With Three Black Cats’ current relationship with the Club as majority shareholder, the Board felt it was appropriate to invite Jacqui, as a Director of Three Black Cats, to replace Colin. As an experienced Director and previous Chairman, we were pleased to invite her to take up both roles again.”
Three Black Cats has also confirmed to the Board that Colin Weir’s commitment to transfer the majority shareholding to fans, creating a fan-owned club, is unchanged. A meeting is planned shortly with the Working Group chairman to discuss the new timetable for the way ahead in light of recent events. A further update will be issued immediately after that.
