This month’s Community Champion, presented by McDonalds Maryhill, is a fan-led group who are well known within Firhill.
Jags For Good are an independent, fan-led group who mobilise Partick Thistle fans for social justice causes in Thistle’s local communities.
Since launching in April 2022, they have undertaken a whole host of activities including regularly organising foodbank donation drives at home matches, fundraising to buy season tickets for local charities, and launching an Energy Fund to support people struggling to pay their energy bills. The group are also, in partnership with the Jags Foundation, holding an event on Sunday 26th March at Drygate Brewery, to mark the 10th anniversary of Thistle’s 2012/13 title win. Hosted by Ray Bradshaw and with appearances from many of that legendary squad, all of the money raised will go to the Partick Thistle Charitable Trust. Jags For Good will be collecting donations in support of Glasgow North-West Foodbank ahead of tomorrow’s game, but before they continue to support the local community, the group will be presented with a McDonalds Maryhill Community Champion award.
