Crawford: We’re confident and looking forward to the game

Following the defeat to Dundee United in the Scottish Cup and the postponement of the game against Dunfermline Athletic, Partick Thistle return to action against Greenock Morton tomorrow. Thistle midfielder Robbie Crawford sat down with ptfc.co.uk to give his thoughts ahead of the game.

“We’re looking forward to it, obviously we lost last week but we thought we deserved something from the game, at least extra-time. Dundee United are flying right now, they’re sitting fourth or fifth in the Premiership and we ran them close so we’re pretty confident and looking forward to the game tomorrow.

“We’re confident every game we go into at the moment and we’ll always look to try and win the game”

Crawford breaks down the team’s feelings on recent postponements and any possible frustration the boys are experiencing.

“Everyone’s frustrated; we want the games on to try and build momentum and that’s obviously hard to do with the constant postponements, but there’s nothing we can do, we just get on with it.

“It means there’ll be more games to play later on but we’ve got a good squad. Everyone in the squad is prepared to contribute and that’s what we’ll need when we’re playing two games a week.

“Having had a few games off, we’re all dying to get playing and get into a rhythm. We’ve been pretty happy with our performances lately but we’ve not been able to find a flow. That’s going to be big for us with so many games coming up.”

Coming up against an in-form Morton side, Robbie says he’s expecting a difficult game.

“They’ll not give anything up easily. They’ve picked up some good results recently but still need more to really move away from the bottom of the table so we’re ready for a tough contest.

“We need to match their aggression and energy because at the end of the day we need the points as much as they do, just for a different reason.”
