DAO Dougie McInnes is September’s Volunteer of the Month

We are pleased to announce that the club’s Disabled Access Officer Dougie McInnes has been selected as September’s Volunteer of the Month.

Dougie was nominated by a Partick Thistle supporting family who advised: “We are really keen to recognise the help and support that Dougie McInnes has provided in assisting our Dad in getting to the games over the last few years.”

“He would be a great recipient of your Volunteer of the Month Award.”

As well as this nomination the club would like to thank Dougie, who has only recently returned to living in Glasgow after many years in Arran, for all the hard work he carries out to ensure that we have an up to date and comprehensive understanding of all matters affecting our supporters with disabilities.

Dougie is high-profile on a matchday at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill gathering information on how supporters are enjoying their visit and identifying keys issues and opportunities that will allow the club to enhance the match day experience.

He is also the point of contact for all supporters looking to attend matches at our home or at away grounds.

Gus Watson, Operations Manager added: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Dougie for all his hard work and dedication over the last nine years. Until recently he was travelling over from Arran for every match, as long as the CalMac Ferries were running on time, of course!”

“It’s been a real pleasure working alongside him, and I’m delighted to see him recognised as Volunteer of the Month. I look forward to continuing to support Dougie and the DSA in all the brilliant work they do for our supporters.”
