Partick Thistle Football Club is delighted to announce that our upcoming cinch Championship fixture against Ayr United at Firhill on Saturday 15th April will mark the official relaunch of the Partick Thistle Disabled Supporters’ Association.
At Firhill, the matchday experience of our disabled supporters is seen as a priority and the relaunch of the Disabled Supporters’ Association (DSA) has been driven by enthusiastic Jags fan Charlene O’Hara and supported by our Disability Access Officer Dougie McInnes as well as the current PT DSA Secretary Mark Rowantree.
The Partick Thistle Disabled Supporters’ Association exists to promote and advance the interests of absolutely everyone with any form of disability, whether visible or hidden, who wishes to support Partick Thistle.
By working with the club, other fans organisations and the broader community, the PT DSA seeks to remove and overcome all barriers to any supporter, which prevents them from enjoying the match-day experience to the same degree as any non-disabled supporter of our fine old team. The PT DSA’s aim is to make “Firhill for All”, ensuring a voice for all members with a disability within our support.
The presence of the Partick Thistle Disabled Supporters’ Association will be evident around Firhill with flyers on the wall in various areas of the stadium including a QR code which directs to more information about the PT DSA including how you can keep up to date with the progress of the association.
The Partick Thistle Disabled Supporters’ Association held a successful meeting before the Raith Rovers home match in March.
The next meeting will be at 1.30pm before the home match against Ayr United on Saturday 15th April in the same location i.e. the social room next to the viewing platform in the Jackie Husband Stand.
All supporters with disabilities, carers and friends are welcome to attend the meeting.
The Partick Thistle Disabled Supporters’ Association has the support of all at Firhill, including the men’s first team playing squad who will wear special PT DSA warm-up t-shirts ahead of the Ayr United game to celebrate the relaunch.
