There is a double international call up at Firhill with Lewis Mayo and Zak Rudden both being called up for Scotland under 21s forthcoming match against Turkey in early September.
It is not the first that either Lewis or Zak have earned an international call up while wearing red and yellow. Lewis received a Scotland under 21 call up in March 2020 for a qualifier against Croatia, which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The central defender has been a regular at Scotland under 21 level since and skippered the side in a friendly against Northern Ireland in June.
Zak’s international experience was recent, being part of the Scotland under 21 squad that played Northern Ireland in June. On his debut at that level, Zak hit the post with a second half header.
As a result of their international call ups, Lewis and Zak will miss our SPFL Trust Trophy fixture against Stranraer.
All at Thistle with Lewis and Zak all the best in their time away with Scotland.
