Falkirk away queueing – feedback to fans
Monday 26th August, 2024 at 2:42pm
The club are aware that a large number of supporters faced lengthy queues prior to kick-off on Saturday, with many missing as much as the first 20-25 minutes of the first half.
We’ve taken time to review this and can provide the following insight and information for supporters:
- Attendance forecasts form part of the regular pre-match operations meeting and communications between both clubs for any league, cup or play-offs fixture
- For this fixture, this meeting was held on Thursday morning and at that time there had been 276 away tickets purchased – there was high-demand on the pay-at-the-gate option provided by Falkirk, which is difficult to forecast
- Going forward this season, based on your support and the generally shorter distances for most away games, we will increase our crowd estimates when consulting with the host club during pre-match operations meetings
- We will also take into account any away fixture where pay-at-the-gate is available and further adjust our crowd estimate accordingly
- And we will work closely with Falkirk FC for our second away fixture there this season, taking all factors into account (including, as things stand, that it is scheduled to be played on a Tuesday evening) prior to estimating the away crowd
The Thistle support of more than 1,100 on Saturday was incredible – we’re sorry some fans missed the start of the game however we’re extremely grateful for the outstanding backing all supporters gave the team until and after the final whistle.
Thank you for your support.
