Fan Rep Director back on the University beat

Club Fan Representative Director Alistair Gray returned to seats of learning this month to spread the word about supporting Partick Thistle to students who are new to the Glasgow area or have not yet realised what being part of The Jags family feels like.

Alistair attended Fresher Week events at Glasgow Caledonian Union and Glasgow Clyde College to invite students to become part of the Red and Yellow Army and he said: “I firmly believe that building connections with students can be a real winner for Partick Thistle. We kicked things off a year ago at Freshers Week 2024 and by March we had over 6,000 first time visitors coming to take in a game at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill.”

“We want to not only ensure that local universities and college campuses are full of students who have not only heard of Partick Thistle but want to come and watch us especially as we have created student ticket deals in conjunction with their academic departments, sports societies and student unions.”

As well as encouraging new supporters the links with universities has played another role with Alistair explaining: “Along with David Brown from The Jags Foundation we have kicked off several projects that aim to deliver tangible differences across the club. These have ranged from projects with University of Glasgow International MBA students as well as other projects involving students who are just staring their academic journey in Glasgow.”
