Partick Thistle is pleased to announce that, for the first time in 13 years, the whole of Firhill is back in Club ownership. The Colin Weir Main Stand and the South Terrace has been formally transferred to Thistle from Three Black Cats (3BC), in line with Colin Weir’s wishes.
Welcoming the news, CEO Gerry Britton said:
“This great news comes at the start of a very important period for the Club. It’s a huge step forward for us to have the whole of Firhill back in our hands. The stand and land are important additions to our asset base, increasing the value of what we own. But the significance of the land transfer is that we now own our stadium and environs again, which is exactly how it should be.”
A spokesman for 3BC added:
“It’s taken time to get this right so we are delighted that the land transfer has been completed. We promised that Colin Weir’s legacy would be honoured – that’s the first half delivered.”
