Fitzpatrick picks up the McCrea FS November Player of the Month

After a rip-roaring return from injury last month, it’s no surprise that the Red and Yellow Army have picked Aidan Fitzpatrick as their McCrea Financial Services November Player of the Month with the winger garnering more than half of the overall vote.

Having missed the previous two games due to a hamstring problem, Fitzpatrick was back in the fold at Gayfield Park and made an immediate impact; scoring twice as the Jags beat Arbroath 3-1 in Angus.

He followed that up with the assist for Blair Alston’s winning goal against Greenock Morton before producing another brace in the team’s 3-0 win over Queen’s Park at home.

Upon receiving the award Fitzpatrick said:

“November was all about getting back to playing for me so to come out of the other side of it with four goals and this award is obviously really pleasing for me. Even better is that it’s contributed to three wins for the team which is always the ultimate aim for me.

“I think we started the Arbroath game really well as a team and that just helped me get back into my stride – I felt as if I hadn’t missed any time. Getting a couple of goals didn’t hurt at all either and Kerr set me up brilliantly twice so thanks to him for that!

“That just carried on into the following two games which were two very different games but again we found ways to win in both of them and now we’re looking to carry that forward. December will be a difficult month but if we play to our potential then there’s no reason why we can’t get more positive results on the board.”

This season McCrea Financial Services is making a donation each month to a charity of the player of the month winner’s choice. Aidan Fitzpatrick’s choice this month is Kelbourne Park Primary School which he explained a bit more about:

“Kelbourne is a school for children with additional support needs and my mum actually works there so I know first hand the great work they do in providing for their pupils and I’m delighted to be able to contribute a little bit to help them out with thanks to McCrea.”
