Injury Update: Daniel Mackay – 8th August 2024

The club would like to provide an update on Daniel Mackay following the injury which ruled him out of last Saturday’s William Hill Championship fixture against Morton.

After injuring his right knee during a non-contact drill in training last Friday, Daniel was initially assessed by physio Rob Dicke and club doctor Greg McKean.

A full scan of the affected knee on Monday afternoon revealed as expected that Daniel required surgery and so earlier today the player underwent his operation in Glasgow.

The operation went as planned and Daniel is recovering well. It is estimated that it will take four months for Daniel to recover, to return to training and then be available for first team selection again.

As with Steven Lawless and David Mitchell, Daniel will be fully supported by the club during this period, and we look forward to welcoming him back into the first team fold very soon.

We know the red and yellow army will share the sentiments of all at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill in wishing Daniel all the very best in his recovery.
