James Mossman Campbell

Everyone at Partick Thistle FC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of lifelong Thistle fan and much-loved member of the 71 Club, Jim Campbell.

Born James Mossman Campbell on 2nd August 1943 in Duncombe Street within short walking distance of Firhill, but known to friends as Jim, he was a lifelong Jags fan and up until recent years was a regular attendee, his favourite player being Gerry Britton.

Jim was a popular, founder member of the original Golden Thistle Club, which subsequently became the Ambassadors Club before its more recent change to the 71 Club.  He was a proud and popular member of the Club.

When not supporting the Jags he was building a highly successful national Chartered Accountancy practice known as Campbell Dallas.

Jim’s funeral is to be held at 10.30am tomorrow (Friday 7th June) at Glasgow Crematorium, Western Necropolis.

All at Partick Thistle FC send their sincere condolences to Jim’s family, friends and loved ones.

Rest in peace, Jim – once a Jag, always a Jag.
