Jamie Low signs two year Modern Apprenticeship with club

Partick Thistle are delighted to announce that teenager Jamie Low has accepted the offer of a two year Modern Apprenticeship with the club and completed the necessary paperwork at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill this afternoon.

Jamie is already well-known to Jags supporters after he made a memorable First Team debut, back in May, when he set up a goal in the 2-0 Premiership Play-off quarter-final second leg against Ayr.

A further senior appearance followed against Livingston for the 17-year-old who is now undertaking pre-season training under the watchful eye of Head Coach Mark Wilson.

Jamie said: “I was really pleased to be offered the apprenticeship at the club, and I was delighted to get everything signed. I have had a taste of First Team football, and I enjoyed it, however I know there is a lot of hard work to be done before I can play at that level consistently.”

“I have been here for a couple of years and really enjoyed it. Pre-season has been tough, but I know that I will benefit from it over the coming months.”

Academy director Craig Dargo said: “Signing a contract like this one is an exciting day for Jamie and his family. He has worked diligently to be given the opportunities he has and like his team-mates at an under-18 level: Matty Falconer, Liam Rooney, Liam Dolan, Nick Lockhart and Ben McKenna, he has shown up well when working with the First Team.”

“Jamie has had a fair amount of attention on him already, however he knows that playing a couple of games in the First Team is only a start for him.”

Mark Wilson added: “I am delighted to see another member of our under 18-squad progress to the next stage of their career. It is a stage Jamie has deserved to reach, and it has been terrific to see him back in and training with everyone in the last few days at Petershill.”

“I have worked with Jamie since he came in and it has been great to see him develop but there is more to come from him.”
