Partick Thistle FC can today confirm that Jamie Taggart has joined St. Cadoc’s Youth Club on a season-long loan deal, subject to Scottish FA approval.
The 19-year-old winger is a graduate of the Partick Thistle Youth Academy having signed his modern apprenticeship last July.
Although he’s yet to make his first team debut, Jamie has been named in several matchday squads and has featured in a number of the first team’s pre-season friendlies including against Glenafton last month.
He heads to Govan-based St. Cadoc’s who currently sit 12th in the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division having finished 3rd last season.
Taggart could make his St. Cad’s debut tonight as they take on Pollok at Newlandsfield.
Thistle manager Kris Doolan said:
“Jamie going out on loan gives him the opportunity to play games on a weekly basis in a very competitive environment which we feel is the best thing for him.
“He had a couple of loan moves last season and he took a lot from those experiences. Now it’s about making an impact at St. Cadoc’s and earning his place in the team so he can continue to improve all the time.”
