It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John “Kerr” Muir, aged 72, a lifelong fan of Partick Thistle, who passed away at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, on Friday 17th January after a short illness.
Born in Partick, Kerr’s love for the Jags was ingrained in him from an early age. Though work later took him to the Southeast of England, his passion for the club never wavered. He was a keen watcher of JagZone, always staying up to date with the latest games and gossip. Kerr’s commitment to following the club, no matter the distance, is something all friends and family would attest to!
In recent times, Kerr had the privilege of meeting the players as they left training, and they kindly took him on a tour of Firhill, where he saw his commemorative tile and received a signed football. These moments brought him immense joy, as can be seen in the attached photos.
Kerr’s warmth, loyalty, and love for Partick Thistle will never be forgotten. Our heartfelt thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.
You will always be a part of the heart of Partick Thistle.
Rest in peace, Kerr. Once a Jag, always a Jag.
