Partick Thistle can today announce that Kenny Miller has left the club by mutual agreement and with immediate effect.
Kenny joined the club in June 2019, scoring the first of his 10 goals for the club in a Betfred Cup group match against Queen’s Park, his final goal being the late consolation against Dundee United earlier this month.
Capped 69 times for Scotland and the country’s sixth top scorer of all time, while at Thistle Kenny achieved the rare accolade of scoring a Scottish league goal in a fourth consecutive decade.
Kenny leaves with the sincere thanks of everyone at Partick Thistle Football Club and with our best wishes for his future in the game.
Thistle manager Ian McCall said: “Kenny’s footballing CV speaks for itself and while at Firhill he has displayed the same commitment and drive and set the same standards for himself as he has throughout his career. He’s scored some important goals for us this season, most notably at Inverness and Dundee, which could prove crucial at the end of the season. We part on good terms and thank Kenny as well as wishing him only the best for the future.”
Kenny added: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Firhill and would like to thank both Gary and Ian, all the coaching staff, backroom team, my team-mates and, of course, the fans for their support. I wish the club the best of luck for the rest of the season and beyond – hopefully Thistle are back in the top-flight soon.”
