Kerr McInroy joins on loan from Kilmarnock

Partick Thistle FC is excited to announce the signing of Kerr McInroy on a season-long loan deal from Kilmarnock, subject to Scottish FA clearance.

A former Celtic youth player, McInroy made his senior debut while on loan with hometown team Dunfermline; he made 22 appearances for the Pars during the 20/21 term as they finished fourth in the Championship.

The following season brought further loan moves at Airdrieonians and Ayr United where he scored six times in 26 games across the two spells, earning him a move to Rugby Park.

He made his debut for Derek McInnes’ side as a late substitute against Thistle in the Premier Sports Cup before going on to score his first Killie goal against Montrose three days later.

A former Scotland youth international at multiple age levels, the 22-year-old now joins Kris Doolan’s Thistle squad ahead of the start of the cinch Championship season this weekend.

Kerr will wear the number 7 during his time at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill.

Thistle boss Kris Doolan said:

“The midfield is such a key area of the pitch and we’ve been keen to add more competition there for a while. We added Blair Alston at the weekend and now being able to add Kerr is terrific.

“He’s a player who I think has a bit of everything – he can use the ball very well and has a great shot on him but also works hard and covers plenty of ground. Multi-faceted players like that are valuable to any team.

“At just 22 he’s got room to grow too so we want to give him the platform to go and do that. That being said, he’s already a fantastic player and I’m excited to be working with him this season.”
