Kit Bags, Flags, and the Harry Wraggs: Buy Your Copy Now

The club is delighted to present, on behalf of photographer Ray French, ‘Kit Bags, Flags, and the Harry Wraggs’ – an ode in photographs to the Colin Weir Stand.

A limited edition book priced at £35, the collection of photographs showcases every nook and cranny of the Colin Weir Stand which was originally opened as the Grand Stand in 1927.

Originally from London but having lived in Scotland for some time now, Ray French is a long-time lover of photography and football with his two interests overlapping as he produced a documentation of the old Main Stand at Tynecastle over a number of years.

Learning about Partick Thistle from a former boss, Ray approached the club in August 2022 and began the process of photographing the historic structure which has been the hub of Firhill for many years now. ‘Kit Bags, Flags, and the Harry Wraggs’ is the second publication put together by Ray Franch/AnOrdinaryPlace.com

The book displays the stand comprehensively whether it be the familiar exterior facing onto Firhill Road or the storied interior which varies from the kit room to the boardroom.

The visual aspects are supplemented by testimonies from some of Firhill’s well-kent faces such as goalkeeping coach and former player Kenny Arthur, kit man Paul McDonald and groundsman Allan Findlay who share their memories of the stand.

You can purchase your copy of the book online now – click here to get yours!

Purchased copies can be collected from the Executive Offices at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill from Monday, 11th December. If delivery is required to an address outwith Scotland, please contact   quoting your order number for bespoke delivery options.

Ray has kindly decided that all proceeds from the sale of the book will go back to the club.
