Leah Robinson becomes a Jag

Partick Thistle Women’s FC is very happy to announce the signing of Leah Robinson ahead of the 2022/23 term.

The defender comes to Petershill Park off the back of a terrific campaign with Glasgow Women, playing her part in the New Tinto Park side’s promotion to SWPL1.

Robinson spent time as part of the Celtic Academy where she played alongside current Jags Cara Henderson and Taylor Hamill at youth level.

She has been with the club on a trial basis over the past couple of weeks and started our friendly against East Fife at Petershill Park.

PTWFC manager Brian Graham said:

“We’re continuing to build our squad here ahead of a big season for us and we feel Leah will be a great addition to the team. She was part of the promotion-winning team at Glasgow Women last season and is ready to make the step up to SWPL1 level.

We were able to get her some minutes at the weekend in our friendly against East Fife and she slotted into the team very nicely.

She’s a centre-half who is calm under pressure and has plenty of composure which should mix well with the style of play we want to implement.”

Leah Robinson said:

“I’m thankful to the management team here at Thistle for giving me this opportunity.

Getting the chance to play at SWPL1 level is absolutely brilliant and I can’t wait for the season to start.

“Everyone’s been brilliant with me since I’ve been in for pre-season. The work has been tough but it’s necessary and it should put us in position to go and have a really exciting season this year.”
